02.
— Housing Affordability
- Renters and first-time buyers have suffered enough.
-
- Advocate for constructing more affordable housing units in Ealing North through collaboration with local authorities, developers, and housing associations.
- Push for policies that promote affordable housing initiatives, such as rent controls, eased first-time buying and shared ownership schemes, and incentives for developers to prioritise affordable housing in new developments.
03.
— Fair Foreign Policy and Immediate Ceasefires
- Gaza united us all and made us all rethink how and why we vote to have representatives. In simple words, Conservative and Labour MPs failed us and simply allowed the killing of innocent people to keep going by either voting against or simply turning a blind eye to the whole matter – Remember, they put the party first, and we were last on their list. Accordingly, I will:
-
- Advocate for fair foreign policies that prioritise human rights and promote peace and stability in conflict zones.
- Work to raise awareness about the importance of immediate ceasefires in conflict areas, such as Gaza, and push for diplomatic efforts to achieve lasting peace agreements.
- Lead initiatives to ensure that the UK government takes a proactive stance in promoting justice and fairness on the international stage, reflecting Helmi's commitment to fairness and justice for all people.
04.
— Crime and Safety
- Our children are no longer safe in Ealing North.
- Work closely with local law enforcement agencies to develop community policing strategies tailored to the specific needs of Ealing North.
- Secure funding for additional police resources, including increased patrols and improved lighting in high-crime areas.
- Support community-based initiatives to prevent crime, such as neighbourhood watch programs and youth outreach initiatives.
05.
— Transport and Infrastructure
- The transport system is failing, and my local people can no longer rely on it for consistent service in their daily lives.
-
- Lobby for investment in transportation infrastructure, including improvements to road networks, public transportation services, and cycling infrastructure.
- Advocate for increased funding for maintaining and repairing roads and public transport facilities in Ealing North.
- Promote sustainable transportation options, such as walking, cycling, and public transit, to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution.
- Ask for additional investments in local transport stations in areas such as Greenford, Perivale, and Northolt, including modern elevators and improved accessibility for disabled individuals.
06.
— Enhance the quality of our publicly funded education system
- Schools are being let down by self-interested politicians in both parties. We can not gamble with the future of our children. We can not expect parents struggling with the cost of living increases to pay for meals and basic children’s rights to education.
-
- Work with local schools and educational authorities to address any issues affecting the quality of education in Ealing North, such as funding constraints or staffing shortages.
- Advocate for increased investment in educational resources, including school facilities, meals, teaching staff, and extracurricular activities.
- Support initiatives to improve access to educational opportunities for disadvantaged students in Ealing North.
07.
— Bring back the Community Services that we need
- Our people were failed by politicians in both parties, and both agree to have the managed decline in our public services, enabling their private business friends to take over our valuable services.
-
-
- Advocate for improved access to healthcare services in Ealing North, including increased funding for local healthcare facilities and expansion of services to meet growing demand.
- Support the development of community centres, parks, and recreational facilities to enhance the quality of life for residents in Ealing North.
- Work with local authorities and community organisations to ensure essential services are accessible to all residents, particularly those in underserved areas.
- Push for additional investments in green spaces and libraries to improve community well-being and promote biodiversity.
-
08.
— Employment Opportunities
-
- Promote initiatives to attract businesses and investment to Ealing North, creating job opportunities and stimulating economic growth.
- Advocate for training and skills development programs to equip residents with the skills needed to secure employment and advance their careers.
- Support initiatives for apprenticeships, promote entrepreneurship and small business development in Ealing North, and fostering a thriving local economy.
09.
— Addressing Environmental Issues:
- Advocate for improving air quality in Ealing North, such as implementing low-emission zones, promoting electric vehicle usage, and investing in green infrastructure.
-
- Push and support any efforts in Westminster to stop or redefine the money-collection ULEZ scheme proposed by the Labour Mayor, as it became a fight against car owners rather than having it positively reduce emissions.
- Support initiatives to protect and preserve green spaces in Ealing North, including the creation of new parks and the enhancement of existing green areas.
- Promote sustainable waste management practices, including recycling programs and initiatives to reduce single-use plastics and other pollutants. The Labour-run council systematically aimed to reduce funding for key recycling facilities, and this can not continue.
- Support efforts to implement green policies that address climate change and protect the environment, such as investing in renewable energy sources, promoting energy efficiency, and preserving natural habitats.
10.
— Poverty Reduction
- Tackle the cost-of-living crisis—People in my community and beyond deserve to live with dignity and respect, considering that we live in one of the most tax-deducting countries worldwide.
-
- Work to implement policies and programs to reduce poverty in Ealing North, such as increasing access to affordable housing, improving job opportunities, and providing support for low-income families. We all deserve to live in dignity.
11.
— Increased Education Funding
- Advocate for increased funding for schools in Ealing North to ensure they have the resources needed to provide high-quality education for all students.
12.
— Free Higher Education: Education is a right, not a privilege
- Push for policies that make higher education accessible for students in the form of grants rather than funded through student loans, ensuring that all individuals have access to higher education regardless of their financial circumstances.
- Ensuring that higher education institutions have additional scrutiny with quality assurance measures connected to value for money and the requirements of local needs, business, and skills to maintain a leading global position for the British higher education system.
13.
— Clear Immigration Policy
- Both parties failed to find a balanced approach.
- Advocate for developing a clear immigration policy that balances the UK's needs with humanitarian considerations, ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to control immigration while welcoming individuals who contribute positively to society.
14.
— Nationalisation of Key Public Services
- I will stand firmly against privatisation, where both parties always aim to bring their friends in the private sector to have thick contracts funded by our tax. We need to protect our NHS and other key public services.
- Support the nationalisation of key public services, such as healthcare, transportation, and utilities, to ensure that essential services are accessible to all residents and are not subject to profit-driven motives.
15.
— Talent and Skills Development for Youths
- Support funded initiatives and support funding for college students.
- Offer more public support for talent and skills development programs for youths in Ealing North, including vocational training, apprenticeships, and mentorship programs, to equip them with the skills and opportunities needed to succeed in the workforce.
16.
— HS2 Project Mitigation:
- My People in Ealing North have faced server disruption without proper consultation and compensation.
- Ensure that residents and businesses in Ealing North are not subject to additional disruption due to the HS2 project.
- Advocate for proper consultation and mitigation measures to address the damage and noise caused by the HS2 project in the locality.
